Albufeira has always held a special place in our hearts since we first visited over 15 years ago. The charm, energy, and natural beauty of this coastal gem stayed with us and sparked a dream that would ultimately lead us here.
In 2022, we took a leap of faith and left our life in Canada behind to begin a new chapter in Portugal. After running a retail business for 21 years, it felt like the right time for a change, a chance to embrace something new, exciting, and very meaningful.
For José, this move was like coming home. He was born in the Azores and immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of three, Portugal was always close to his heart. For years, he encouraged us to take the plunge, and when we finally arrived, everything seemed to fall into place. From the start, we felt welcomed by the warmth of the people, the vibrancy of the culture, and the breathtaking landscapes. It was as if Portugal had been waiting for us all along.
After two years of settling in, exploring, and truly immersing ourselves in our new home, we knew we wanted to share this experience with others. Thus, Etricity Tuk Tuk was born, it is a great way to introduce visitors to the wonders and hidden attractions of Albufeira in a fun and eco-friendly way.
